The Difference Between Prebiotics & Probiotics
Do you know the difference between Prebiotics & Probiotics?
It’s okay if you don’t, I still get confused by them sometimes😂
Here’s a simple breakdown between the 2:
▶️Prebiotics are specialized plant fibers. They act like fertilizers that stimulate the growth of healthy bacteria in the gut
▶️While Probiotics are the healthy bacteria cultures in your gut.
Essentially, the work in tandem with each other!
Prebiotics are the “food” to help the gut bacteria (probiotics) grow & function properly!
That is why it is important to make sure you are getting a healthy amount of both!
Many fruits 🍑🍊and veggies 🥦🥕have prebiotics, while many yogurts and cheeses 🧀 have probiotics!
