There are hundreds, if not thousands, of things to do to improve your health. You can start working out, join a gym, hire a personal trainer. And start FREE! Ready to dive in and learn 3 things you can do today to improve your health, FOR FREE!
One Way to Improve Your Health: Focus on Eating Real, Whole Foods
You don’t even have to change your diet or buy special foods! Just focus on eating whole foods. What do I mean by eating whole foods? Eat real foods. Fruits, vegetables, animal products without added hormones or synthetics. You don’t even have to strictly eat whole foods (though that would be HUGE for your goals, but very few people can successfully make the switch to a strict whole foods diet), just focus on adding more whole foods to your plate than you already do. The more whole foods you add in, the more processed foods that will be removed from your diet!
The Second Way to Improve Your Health: Move More
I’m not even talking about exercise, I just simply mean move more. Stop sitting so much. If you have to sit while at work, get up once an hour and walk around the office (or home office) for 5 minutes. Park your car further away from the grocery store, choose the stairs over the elevator. This every day activity (also called NEAT or non-exercise activity thermogenesis) accounts for an additional 15% of your daily calorie burn, meaning if you want to lose some weight, moving more throughout the day might be the ticket you are looking for! Move more and watch your health improve!
The Third Way to Improve Your Health: Get More Sleep
Chances are, you aren’t getting enough sleep. Sleep is important, not just for our mind, but also our body. Our body recovers during sleep, repairs itself, and strengthens its immune system. Sleep is also related to stress, the less sleep you get, the more stressed you tend to be, the worse your sleep becomes. More stress translates to a weaker immune system. Make it a goal to get the amount of sleep your body really needs (not what you think you can survive off of) and watch yourself thrive!
How to Stat Improving Your Health: Start Small
Okay, so where do we start? Choose one of the three ways listed above. Then, start by doing one related thing today. Say you wanted to get more sleep. Tonight, make yourself go to bed 10 minutes earlier. The next day, go to bed 15 minutes earlier. Work your way up to your goal bed time that will allow you to get 7-9 hours of sleep! Or maybe you want to get in more whole foods. Start with your first meal of the day, add in one serving of whole foods. The next day, add another whole food serving to your lunch. Continue adding in more servings and watch your body change right before your eyes!
There you go! Three ways to improve your health today, all of which don’t cost you a dime! Which one are you going to focus on first? Let me know in the comments below!
